Basically, the point is that if you finance the installation cost of your solar system, you'll have no upfront costs and the cost of repaying the loan is less than what you were paying on your electricity bill.

Putting some numbers to it

Here's an example of a recent installation - one that is quite standard. They chose a 6.6kW solar system with no batteries.

The total cost after government rebates was: $7,000.

The Solar VIC loan is interest-free for 48 months and the financing option is interest-free for 60 months.
