What the client needed
A homeowner on Kashmir Road, Charlemont, was seeking to expand their solar capacity while significantly increasing battery storage to support overnight use and improve blackout resilience. The solution needed to be seamlessly integrated with their existing system, visually low-impact, and future-ready. Winki Energy was brought in to engineer a smart upgrade that balanced power, aesthetics, and reliability.
Our objectives
The goals for this upgrade included:
• Adding 4kW of new solar generation to increase daytime production.
• Installing high-capacity battery storage for energy independence and backup.
• Ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.
• Minimising installation complexity while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic.
The system we designed & installed
To achieve the client’s objectives, Winki Energy deployed:
• 9 × 475W Jinko Solar Tiger Neo panels (4.275kW total).
• 2 × Sigenergy SigenStor BAT 8.0 batteries for a combined 16.12kWh storage.
• 1 × Sigenergy Sigen Hybrid 10.0 SP AU inverter for coordinated solar/battery/grid control.
This system enables dynamic energy management, balancing solar production with battery usage and grid demand, while providing scalable options for future expansion.
The final outcome
The installed system delivered:
• 4kW solar generation boost for enhanced daytime power production.
• 16kWh battery capacity to cover overnight loads and provide blackout protection.
• Smart hybrid inverter integration for seamless operation and energy optimisation.
• A modular, sleek system design that blends into the property’s layout and allows for future upgrades.
