What the client needed
Darrell Lea’s Rowville manufacturing site required a large-scale solar solution to power its extensive production and warehouse operations. As a major national brand, the company sought to reduce its environmental impact while offsetting high energy consumption with a clean, cost-effective renewable energy source. Winki Energy was selected to engineer a robust commercial solar system built for performance and scale.
Our objectives
Winki Energy’s goals for this commercial installation were focused on delivering a reliable and efficient energy solution tailored to the operational demands of ISV. The team designed a 65.5kW solar system specifically matched to the site’s daily energy usage, ensuring optimal performance throughout peak business hours. To maximise solar generation, panel layout was carefully planned to utilise the full extent of available roof space. The system was designed to be low-maintenance and highly efficient, reducing the need for ongoing intervention. Additionally, the installation process was managed to minimise disruption to staff and workshop activities, allowing ISV to maintain business continuity.
The system we designed & installed
To meet ISV’s commercial energy requirements, Winki Energy installed a 65.5kW rooftop solar system using high-efficiency panels strategically arranged for maximum sun exposure. A commercial-grade inverter and durable wiring infrastructure were included to ensure long-term reliability and effective power conversion. The system also featured a smart monitoring platform, providing real-time performance data and actionable insights into energy efficiency. Configured to support high daytime electricity usage, the solution helps reduce ISV’s dependence on the grid while cutting monthly energy costs.
The final outcome
The completed solar installation delivers 65.5kW of clean energy, effectively supporting ISV’s daily industrial operations while reducing reliance on external power sources. The system has led to noticeable savings on energy bills and a reduction in peak demand charges. Designed with a clean, professional layout, the rooftop installation not only enhances long-term durability but also contributes to the site’s visual appeal. This project marks a significant step forward in ISV’s sustainability journey, aligning with their goals to lower emissions and embrace environmentally responsible practices. Today, ISV benefits from a robust, business-optimised solar system powered by clean Australian sunshine.
